Schools Scottish music prizes

The Foundation funds an annual awards program for achievements in bagpiping and highland drumming. Prizes have been presented to students at Scots School Albury, Scotch College, Haileybury College, Ballarat Grammar, Presbyterian Ladies College and the National Youth Pipe Band of Australia.

Testament to the standard of pipe bands in Australian secondary schools is the performance of the Scotch College Pipes and Drums. In 2015 it competed at the World Pipe Championships in Glasgow, and finished equal third (fourth on count back). In doing so the bands drummers achieved fifth place and pipers were judged best Under 18 pipe corps in the world.

In 2017 The Scots School Albury Pipe Band took part in The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. This event is held each August as part of the Edinburgh Festival and it is viewed live by around 220,000 spectators and attracts a global television audience of over 100 million people.
