The Foundation’s application process and expectations are described below.
Applications for funding are welcomed from individuals, groups and organisations that:
- are not-for-profit
- are the ones actually running the project or activity
- undertake their primary activities in Australia.
The grant application process involves:
- reading the application process
- downloading and filling in the application form
- preparing an application
- emailing the application to info@vshcf.com.au. Email is much preferred, but if hardcopy is necessary then post or deliver the application to the Victorian Scottish Heritage Cultural Foundation Limited, c/o OSCA, 1 Morrison Street, HAWTHORN, VIC 3122.
Applications from organisations must include the following information:
- materials such as letters (that supports the case for funding) and background materials (such as annual report, newsletters, bulletins) that help the Foundation’s board gain a better understanding of the applicant
- a statement that the organisation has not-for-profit status
- a statement of willingness to accept the Foundation’s standard grant conditions such as those of reporting and evaluation
- evidence of current status of insurance – public liability and/or professional indemnity.
After applications are submitted:
- They are considered at the next meeting of the Foundation’s board (the board meets quarterly)
- Applicants are notified of the outcome by email
- Formal feedback on unsuccessful applications is not provided.
Organisations and individuals can apply for up to $10,000 for one-off projects.
- Funds are modest; highly expensive projects will not be considered.
- Multi-year grant commitments will be considered in exceptional circumstances.
- Most grants are between $500 and $3000.
Grants are subject to conditions. All funded projects are to:
- acknowledge funding support from the Foundation on their own website/advertising media
- provide the Foundation with a report on their completed project/activity.
