Apply for a grant

The Foundation’s application process and expectations are described below.

Applications for funding are welcomed from individuals, groups and organisations that:

  • are not-for-profit
  • are the ones actually running the project or activity
  • undertake their primary activities in Australia.

The grant application process involves:

  • reading the application process
  • downloading and filling in the application form
  • preparing an application
  • emailing the application to info@vshcf.com.au. Email is much preferred, but if hardcopy is necessary then post or deliver the application to the Victorian Scottish Heritage Cultural Foundation Limited, PO Box 3500, Middle Camberwell 3124.

Applications from organisations must include the following information:

  • materials such as letters (that supports the case for funding) and background materials (such as annual report, newsletters, bulletins) that help the Foundation’s board gain a better understanding of the applicant
  • a statement that the organisation has not-for-profit status
  • a statement of willingness to accept the Foundation’s standard grant conditions such as those of reporting and evaluation
  • evidence of current status of insurance – public liability and/or professional indemnity.

After applications are submitted:

  • They are considered at the next meeting of the Foundation’s board (the board meets quarterly)
  • Applicants are notified of the outcome by email
  • Formal feedback on unsuccessful applications is not provided.
  • Funds are modest; highly expensive projects will not be considered.
  • Multi-year grant commitments will be considered in exceptional circumstances.
  • Most grants are between $500 and $3000.

Grants are subject to conditions. All funded projects are to:

  • acknowledge funding support from the Foundation on their own website/advertising media
  • provide the Foundation with a report on their completed project/activity.
